Overview
Training center policy and procedures apply to students attending courses provided by the AE-ITT program. Exceptions may be granted to those organizations that fund full courses or training seats. Courses delivered thru the AE-ITT program are open to all military, DA civilian, and local national personnel working for the US Federal Government and assigned to the European Theater. Contractors are not authorized to attend AE-ITT sponsored training. Contractors are welcome to contact the AE-ITT Program Manager for additional information on commercially available sources providing equivalent training in the local area. Contact information, procedures and paperwork regarding how to apply funding to the AE-ITT Program are posted under the link “Process for Purchasing Training and Vouchers.”
IT/CS Training
A trained workforce is the foundation for secure computer networks. The Director of Information Systems for Command, Control, Communications, and Computers (Army CIO/G6) and Army Europe and Africa (USAREUR-AF) policy require special training for system administrators, network administrators and managers, CS support officers and managers, and anyone else with elevated privileges on an Army Europe network server or router, regardless of their duty assignment. This policy provides a consistent baseline of computer-network security training for the key professionals who operate and secure our computer networks.
All military, DA civilian, contractor, and local national personnel appointed to IT/IA workforce positions must be baseline certified IAW DoD 8140M before being granted elevated privileges on a USAREUR-AF network. Only Soldiers in Skill level 1 (E-1 thru E-4) in Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) 25B/25U are exempt from baseline certification requirements (Memorandum) but must have an AIT course completion certificate posted in the individual’s Army Training and Certification Tracking System (ATCTS).
Attendance Policy
Students are to report to the training center for registration 30 minutes prior to the class start time. Any student who has not signed into class within 30 minutes after the class start time will risk forfeiting their seat. Place of duty for personnel attending the training is at the AE-ITT facility.
Cancellations must be made at least 10 working days before the class begins or the student will be considered a “Late Cancel”. Students who fail to attend will be considered a “No Show”. The training funding allocated for the “Late Cancel” or “No Show” student cannot be recovered unless the student’s organization provides a replacement. If no replacement can be provided, a notification to the commander will be sent on either “Late Cancel or No Show” that the student has been suspended from requesting classes indefinitely. The commander may remove suspension by submitting a Reinstatement Memorandum to the AE-ITT Program.
To receive course credit, students must attend at least 90% of class time, participate in class exercises and section-knowledge checks, and score at least 80% on an end-of-class, multiple-choice assessment and complete the class evaluation. Each student has up to two attempts to successfully pass an end-of-class exam. Upon the second failure, students must study further and are required to come back for testing the following week. Their ISSM will be informed if this occurs. Students attending one of the two week boot camp courses are required to test on the last day of training.
IATP Courses
The Army Europe Information Technology Training Program (AE-ITT) provides required cybersecurity training virtually in the European theater. This training meets all CS computer-training standards mandated by DoD. Individual’s TDY will be funded by their Unit.
